Community Living and its Benefits

Man is a social animal, and no matter how reclusive someone may be, they still need the feeling of belonging and togetherness that a community brings. Communities can be based around common interest and goals, or simply on geographical proximity.

It is the feeling of being part of a group that makes communities beneficial. Communities can be especially relevant in today’s world, where people tend to get more and more isolated in spite of living in close together.

Becoming part of a community is an intrinsic and integral part of human nature. Whether one is a particularly vocal part or a silent member depends on a person’s nature, but the feeling of belonging comes easily. Communities can be of any kind. For example, even while on extended holidays in Elviria villas people could form groups and make lasting friendships.

Today, with the ubiquitous use of the internet, the creation of proliferation of online communities is only natural. There are hundreds of groups and communities on the internet. While some may be based on common interests, aims or beliefs, many are based on local places, or around the concept of social networking.

Community creates a sense of fulfilment, and evokes feelings of togetherness and satisfaction. Belonging to a group also promotes self confidence and the spirit of functioning as a group.
